Q: Why do you have to see my work in advance before you can assess an editing fee? A: We need to receive the editing work in advance because we cannot determine how extensive our involvement will be beforehand. Some editing is minimal, whereas other jobs might involve extensive revision. There is no way of knowing until we actually see the work. In addition, we have often found that editing may require additional pages of original custom research. Q: How is the finished work delivered to me? A: The most common method is electronic transfer – that is, sending the file as an attachment to an e-mail message. You can also send hard copies and files on disk by regular U.S. mail, 3-day priority mail, and FED-EX, among other mailing services. Q: Do rush jobs cost more? A: Yes. We generally require a minimum of ten working days for a proposal, editing assignment, or statistical analysis. Rush fees are assessed on the basis of days below the minimum, with a 5% surcharge for each. Thus, if your work has a six day deadline, there would be a 20% surcharge. Q: Can we work out a payment schedule? A: Yes, we can work out a payment schedule, but only for larger works of 35 pages or more. We require a 50% deposit to begin the work. Then we can agree to a flexible schedule as based on the individual client's circumstances. Q: Will you do my coursework or fulfill my academic requirements for me?
